Looking for a good serviceable Lear Siegler(Romec) fuel pump p/n RG7790G3. Mine has pretty severe wear where the gear tang engages inside the pump slot. Both the male and female parts are worn. If anybody has a pump please PM me. Thanks.

HI try calling RLB ACCESSORY SERVICE in illinois his name is BOB at 630-543-9213 he rebuilt mine and i gave him an old to rebuild to keep had some good gears ...now they do have play in that parts where the slot drive is.hope this helps......tom.......bob is a super nice guy.

Okay Tom thanks for the info. The spec on the shaft to bore wear is only .020 I was told by one overhaul shop. Mine is way more than that. Should be a pretty good number of these out there as they were used in several other installations. Someone might just have one in decent shape and hopefully I'll run across one or else I'll have to go the overhaul route.

I'll have to say I enjoyed dealing with old Bob. He's a guy from the old school and he tries to help you all he can. I think he's been around the block a time or two and knows his business.

Here's a little update on the oil leak after reinstalling the fuel pump. The oil seal in the adapter block where the fuel pump attaches was the source of the oil leak. Be very careful you get the correct gasket for this adapter plate to the engine block. A standard vacuum pump gasket looks at first glance like it'd be alright to use but it is not. The shaft in this adapter gets lubricated from holes that must be open and hence you must get the correct gasket. It might seem that the one hole is not important since the fuel pump base is solid below it-the hole appears to go all the way thru the adapter plate and would be blocked off so you might assume a solid gasket on the other end would be okay-it is not. Hidden in the tiny diameter thru hole is an internal passage way that lubes the shaft! Be careful if you do this job. I think from memory it is a 61183 gasket that goes between the adapter plate and engine. The seal is a STD2217 or STD208 which have both been superceded to a longer number I can't remember right now. The fuel pump gasket is not as critical as it is just a flat base surface. The fuel pump coupling wants to pop out of the fuel pump since its held in there with a weak circlip by the way. Hope to have this finished and try to start it later in the week!
