My wife and I and our friend, Bill Myrtle (who is a Brantly owner and A&P), went to Lawton, OK to Harold Jenkins’ funeral last week. Bill and I have worked with Harold for 30 years, and this was a tough loss for all of us that knew him.

Thanks to the Brantly owners who sent flowers. They were very much appreciated by Harold’s wife, Sandy, and their family.

Sy Russam, former Brantly officer, Tim Archer, Brantly CEO and Olvis Jones, a friend and co-worker were also there. Harold and Olvis have been friends since in the 1950’s. There were close to 100 people there.

We arrived the night before the funeral and met with Steve Baggett on Wednesday morning. Harold had raised Steve since he was 5 years old and was very much a Dad to him. Steve has worked with Harold on Brantly helicopters all of his life and is very good at it. He is going to keep doing the same work on Brantlys. That is his life. Steve is in his early 40’s and had been planning on getting his A&P rating. This just speeds up the process. He will keep the same phone number, 405-489-3308.

I’m going to support him in any way that I can and hope other Brantly owners will do the same.

Not you all, but in today's culture so few really become passionate about a subject or vocation.
Just from my reading here, obvously Harold was very devoted to we know what.

A bright minister I once knew, who had seen 1000s of life pass before him, declared from those
experiences, finding yoru passion, even if it can only be practiced evenings and weekends becomes ALL.

Other things, even finances, take care of themselves.

Just checked in again after a few weeks to see this awful news. I have talked to Harold like most people in the Brantly community. He was truly the one person that kept the Brantly in the air more than any other over the last several decades. I am very, very saddened by his passing.

"Me too", on the just checked in and so terribly saddened by the passing of Harold Jenkins.

Having had contact with him on and off since stationed at Fort Sill in 1964, I am literally brought to tears reading that he has 'flown west'.

All of us who have flown and loved Brantly Helicopters have lost a real treasure of a man who so loved those machines also.

Rest In Peace, Harold.

Sincere condolences to Sandy, Steve, all his Family and all those close to him.
I will never forget him.
