Bill - Sadly I am tied up finishing a project all summer long. I of course don't own a ship, yet. I need to get some lessons in badly. I keep having to delay.

And get this, some of my family thinks college tuition & school shoes (got too many kids, want some?) are more important than gaining a 'copter!! ha where do they get off! In seriourness I can tell you, spouse + two kids that got rides in Ron’s ship at Cherry Ridge have swung and all are interested now. My 13 yr old, probably engineering bound, is reading teh FAA book along with me, aviation itself stimulating. My family really enjoyed seeing all the 'copters lus noted the high quality camaraderie amongst ship owners.

I missed Doc’s talk/visit that wkend , but can report it was the talk of N Wayne where I am originally from. . He, at 93, is so beloved, word spread he had a ride in a Brantly again. Thanks to Ron and Bill,

Owen

Well, I know you said other than me, but yes, I am flying, a lot. Mostly training but some for-fun flights in there as well. I'm at 120 hours in just over the last 3 months. Most of that time is in several Brantlys but there's a little in an Enstrom and Bell 47 also. I actually took today off work and am going flying for a while. Can't sit in an office and miss all the good days.

Surely others are doing some flying besides me and the guys I'm working with. Any flights to interesting places, or just flights in general to share?

I did 5 hours of night cross countries over the last couple of weeks with a guy getting ready for this checkride. I might go up again this weekend, as the moon is almost full and nice clear skies. Last evening the visibility here in the western PA area was incredible. We could see the city of Pittsburgh from 30 miles just as clear as it could be.

About two weeks ago a young lady I know called me and ask if I would do her a favor, She was getting married and ask if I would fly her to the ceremony in the Brantly.
Of course I said yes, so last Saturday I picked her up at the airport and flew her to her parents farm where the wedding was taking place.
We had to do a little pushing and stuffing to get her and the dress in the helicopter but she made a grand entrance arriving just as the ceremony was starting.
Both her and her new husband are pilots and her husband , who is an electrical engineer, proposed by putting lights in her fathers field spelling, Hanna will you marry me?
and then flying her over the field and turning on the lights by radio. I think she was trying to be as creative as he was.
It is one of the coolest things I have done in the Brantly. Del

Del, neat story. Sounds like it was fun.

I'm still flying a lot here. Have several guys I'm working with doing flight instruction and getting ready for checkrides. Just passed 800 hours in the Brantly last week. Keep 'em coming! Sure hope the factory gets going again soon to support us owners with parts and new ships. Who knows, the way things are going I may need to get a second ship.
