new paint

Post by scrapper »

I know it would vary widely depending on needed prep work, quality or work, desired final product,
but could someone give me a ball park cost for a paint job for a Brantly?

Even well used, the investment is high and seeing such beautiful craft photos, it seems like
a old craft would deserve new digs.

HI i repainted my old b2 it came out pretty nice.stripped all paint off the best way to do it. I would charge abought 4000.to strip and prime and paint.or it could be just scuff up old and paint.but this method would require a new weight and balance done because paint gets heaver by the coats.i don't recommend this way its just cheaper.i have abought 30 years with paint body work ex ct.. i am sure there are others out there to do it also.just make sure they have aircraft knowledge.its not like a car..hope this helps....thanks ..tom

"Came out pretty nice" is a conservative understatement. Tom is a top-notch painter.

Wow, I am really getting sucked in.

That is beautiful work, and a snazzy new style as well.
Thx

THANKS RON AND SCRAPPER for comments. scrapper i would all so check with BILL MOTT on paint work i heard he is real good plus i think this is his living working aircraft I'm sure he'll do you a good job.i would rather see him get the job if your going that route.i don't like to take work from any one that works on aircraft for a living .so give him first chance. plus he would be closer for you....thanks ...ALSO GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK ON the forum GOOD LUCK ON YOUR BRANTLY INTREST......tom
