Has anyone flown their Brantly recently?

Post by seneca2e »

Looks like we're finally starting to string together a few warm nice weather days here and there. So how about it has anyone gotten off the ground recently :D ? As you can tell I'm really fired up about getting N7WE flying soon but it's all in good time :D .

I'm flying. Did a slow walking-pace hover up and down the entire runway at our airport a week ago to blow off the sand and remaining dust/dirt from the winter months. Then had a lesson with my youngest son on Sunday. This past Saturday I had two intro flights for guys interested in getting started. And I flew to another local airport to do training in the Enstrom we just did the XC in. That guy did well enough on all ground ops and patterns that I solo'd him for his first time. He did some hovering for a bit then I told him to go do a pattern. What an exciting and nervous day for both of us. Hopefully other guys are flying too and will tell about it.

Sounds like you had a real good day! I hope to teach my daughter to fly the Brantly at some point as well! I solo'd a fixed wing guy a few days ago and that's always fun no matter how long you've been in this business. I'm sure EVERYONE can remember there own first solo-fixed wing and helicopter if you're dual rated.

Hopefully some more guys will share getting there Brantlys out and firing them up on here soon with some pictures and or videos as well! I really like all your Brantly videos and pictures!

Is anyone thinking about going to Homers in July? Let me know, I hope to fly up from Choo Choo town, (that's CB for Chattanooga). Would like to see other Brantly's, to show them a real helicopter. Let's have a real showing!

I normally get about 45 hours per year, but only got 18 hours last year due to illness in the family, but hope to do more this year. Looking for a partner in my area so I can keep flying. Most everyone now knows that N2101 is worth about $75,000, but $32,500 will get 50% interest.

As a side note; If you want to find out what your B2B or B2 is worth, or if you are not sure of the condition of your Brantly, then have Bryan Cobb go through it. Outside of Harold Jenkins, Bryan know the Brantly better than anyone.

I'll be at Homer's, Dave. Right now I'm planning on flying my Brantly there.

Hey Dave,

I may be in Savannah, GA for Gulfstream school in July. If it works out I'd be willing to drive up to your place if you might have a seat open. I'd be willing to split the gas or whatever deal might work for you. It's been too long since I've been in a Brantly and always wanted to get to Homer's for the fly-in.
