Environmental Effects on a B-2B

Dear Brantly enthusiasts,
I am not an owner but a fan of Brantly helicopters. There is a 1966 B-2B that I saw recently at an airport and I would like to hear your opinions on its state. It was deregistered several years ago and has not flown in at least three years. Regrettably, it has been sitting in the grass, uncovered, without being maintained or flown for several years. It seems to be intact, as though it were flown into place and then abandoned, but obviously shows signs of deterioration due to weathering and neglect.
Based on that admittedly brief description, I would love to hear peoples' opinions about what has probably happened to it in the sense of what it would take to make it flyable again and, thus, its current value as a helicopter. Any thoughts?

With it sitting out I would think it would need a lot of work to get it up and going even if it was flown in. Sitting out in the weather will let water seap in to bearings in the rotor and cause damage. If you decide to look into it more you should call Harold He knows the history of nearly every Brantly out there and can advise you more. This sounds to me like a big project. If you are looking for a B2B check with Gary He has several nice B2B listed for sale. I looked at his ships 3 weeks ago all are in very good shape.
If you decide not to look into it anymore please post more info as someone might use it for parts.

I AGREE WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS THAT IT PROBABLY WOULD TAKE A LOT OF WORK & MONEY TO GET IT UP AND FLYING, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT 'S NOT WORTH IT. GET AN IA TO LOOK IT OVER, SOMEONE EXPERINCED IN BRANTLYS, DO AN ESTIMATE ON IT AND DECIDE IF IT IS FOR YOU. IF YOU COULD BUY IT AT A REASIONABLE PRICE FOR WHAT IT IS , HAVE THE TIME & MONEY ,AT LEAST WHEN YOUR DONE YOU WILL KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE & HAVE IT YOUR WAY .JUST REMEMBER THAT PARTS AREN'T CHEAP. This brings up another question on a long unflown ship not just this one. Let's say the ship has been sitting there for 10 years since last flown with the blades attached and drooped down from gravity. Are they gonna suffer from that long a period of drooping(be hard to track and balance)?
