It's been a long time coming and based upon several inquiries from the field we are formally announcing that we will be having a Maintenance Course here at the factory from April 21 - 25. Let us know at your earliest convenience if you will be attending. At the present time this course is designed for A&P mechanics. If we get enough feedback then it's possible that we'll put together a course for a future date for those who are not an A&P. This is good news. A strong factory and more mechanics out in the field are really important to all present and future Brantly owners.

Just curious who's planning on attending the maintenance course next week. Jason tells me there will be about 5 of us.

Can anyone give us an update on how the Brantly course went and how many attended.

Hi All,

We have 5 students attending the Brantly Maintenance Course (Level 1). The class is going very well and it is focused on doing the routine inspections; daily, 25 hour, 50 hour and the 100 hour/Annual inspection. We took the tail rotor apart today, did the required inspections, and we even were able to put it back together. Today we also did compression checks and timed the mags. We have done many other things while here like removing outer blades and inspecting them for cracks, disassemble and service oleo struts, etc. I feel that it was well worth the trip. There are several ships in different stages of completion and the factory is gearing up for more production of aircraft and spare parts. I am looking forward to coming back for the Level 2 class when one gets scheduled. Still 2 days of class left.

I second Charlie's opinion, it was well worth the trip. A great bunch of guys all around and Chris did a great job! Hopefully the factory can get someone good in to take his place. Best of luck to him in his new job. It looks like Jason posted an update on the Brantly website. I posted a few pictures on my blog too. Anyone know how Anders flight went? Did they make it home safely?

Anders made it home safely and they were very happy with the ship. Chris said they made it home at 6:30 pm Saturday. That's some flying there.

I just finished the annual on my Brantly after attending the Brantly maintenance class. The course really made working on my Brantly very easy, all the mystery was gone. I would definitely recommend the course to anyone working on a Brantly and I am looking forward to the Level 2 training when one gets scheduled. I would be happy to try and answer any questions that anyone may have about Brantly inspections (25, 50 and 100 hour).
