Maintenance Training
I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in getting together for a maintenance training class for their ships.
I've been kicking around the idea of trying to coordinate with the factory and perhaps Harold to set up a maintenance training class for a few days for us owners and mechanics. There is a lot of knowledge in Harold and some of the other oldtimers that one of these days may be going away and it would be great to get together and pick their brains and be taught by them so that alot of this knowledge won't be lost.
If there is enough interest, perhaps we could even coordinate a gathering incorporating both flight training and maintenance training.
What do you guys think? If there's enough interest I'd be willing to try and put something toegther.

Maintenance Training
Just to let everyone know, Training courses will be available at the factory very soon. There will be a minimum student requirement to schedule probably 3-5. Level I training will include general knowledge up to the 100 hr. inspection and is a 40 hr. long with hands on included. Level II includes 300 hr., 600 hr, 1200 hr, Special Inspections, and flight operations and is also 40 hrs. The more interest there is, the sooner it will happen. Contact us here at the factory to get on the list. Ask about maintenance training.

Re: Maintenance Training
Looks like we will schedule a class for Level I in April 2008. Let me know good dates for everyone during that month. We'll try to work with you as best we can.

Is this for sure going to happen? If so how much will it cost and how long will it take? I'm an A&P/IA but would love to have some training on this machine before I buy one.
Re: Maintenance Training
Is there any chance that Brantly will be represented at Sun-N-Fun this year? April 8-13 ... Good place and time for public exposure and training class! There is plenty of room and enthusiasm in Choppertown...

Re: Maintenance Training
The course will be 40 hrs. and will cost $1000 per person. Of course each will have to cover their own travel costs as well. You will recieve oral and practical training right here at the factory, and yes there will be tests. After which each student will recieve a certificate of training from Brantly.
As for shows we will be attending AOPA Expo in San Jose, CA in Nov 2008. The only one on the agenda for this year but perhaps next year we will be at more. Demo flights- we're still working on that, I'll try to keep you posted.

Re: Maintenance Training
I have a question about the training. Is this regular maintainance training for A&Ps/AIs or is this a modified for owners and pilots?
I am not sure what the orginal poster had in mind when they posted but I'm not an A&P and would like to have some owner type (things I can do) knowledge. Maybe the A&P training is ok for that too, I do not know if it is way over my head. For this training does one need previous A&P knowledge to keep up?
If this is the regular A&P training then maybe I can find an A&P in my area that I can send down who will be taking care of my ship, when I get one, soon.
A little more detail as to the target audiance would be helpful? Just so we are all on the same page if we are spending $1,000.00. plus travel expenses.
Thanks,

Re: Maintenance Training
The training is for regular maintenance and the prerequisite is to be at least an A&P. I understand what you mean by the owner type things, and likeley that would not take 40 hrs. Send an e-mail to sales@brantly.com asking for this type of training. We are trying to meet the needs of our customers so likely in the future we can have something like this if there is enough interest.
