Vert Mag Editor Requests Insurance Input
Posted: Mon Jun 18, 2007 6:57 pm
On the R22 owners board there was a request for insurance input for a article in Vertical Magazine.
Here's the request.
As a contributing editor for Vertical Magazine, I have decided to
write a feature for publication later this year on the subject of
piston helicopter insurance. As such, Robinson helicopters will be a
big part of the story due to the choices we owner/operators have in
selecting coverage, and obvious fleet size. In my initial posting and
now as well, I am asking for help from you regarding experiences with
either Pathfinder or other insurance companies both in cost
differences, and especially any claims experiences you may have had.
So far, I have had one owner from this forum who had a claim and is
sharing his experience off line with me. I really appreciate that and
by his request, he will not be named nor will the particulars of his
incident. But the feedback will be beneficial for the story. And I
could sure use more input.
Also, if any of you also own and/or operate other pistons and can
share any of the same information requested above, that would be
great. My research will be extensive and I'm attempting to make this
as comprehensive of a pierce as I can. I've already had conversations
with insurance brokers, Frank Robinson, as well as exchanges with
Pathfinder and will have more planned as this develops.
I didn't want to start a firestorm of back and forth arguements, and
I will separate sizzle from the steak on the various products,
limitations, and how to possiblly deal with those limitations.
So if you can help I would really appreciate it. This will only help
me do a better service to my readers, and this group as well. You can
contact me directly at my posted email address, or at
guy@verticalmag. com.
Thanks in advance.
