If anyone has been trying to contact Infinity Aeropsace about the grips, it may be awhile before they get back to you. I got this email today from the J.D Newman:
Hi All,
I thought I'd send a short note out while I can, while the electricity
is back on. It's been out since Sunday, and we've been kinda busy.
In case you hadn't heard, San Diego County has been declared a disaster
area -- the worst fire in documented history. Over 300,000 acres, over
500 square miles, over 1200 homes, and hundreds of businesses have
burned. 14 people are known dead.
Thousands of people are sleeping on high school gym floors, and in
tents in city parks and football stadiums all over the county.
Animals are relocated into the infield of the local car race track,
across from our hangar and office.
Everyone has masks on. In fact, it is *very* dangerous to be outside
without a mask. Your eyes and throat really burn. Lungs ache.
Breathing is very difficult, and the paper masks barely help.
Haven't seen the sky since Saturday. The smoke, ash and soot is sooo
thick, it's incredible. The sky changes color from grey, black, white,
yellow, orange to red, depending on what the winds are doing to the
fires. The ash and soot is blowing everywhere into my hangars -- what a
mess!
It's like a movie you've seen where an asteroid has hit the earth, but
we're really in it!
As I type, they are still evacuating towns and communities east and
north of us as the fires come this way.
We have fires just north, east and south of us. In fact, we can see
the fires from our home to the north and east. Haven't slept much
either, watching the fires and the news.
We have loaded up our 2 vehicles with our important stuff from our
home, and have moved stuff to my office and hangars to the west, getting
as ready as we can in case we have to evacuate, too, before our home
burns. We'd end up on the office floor
.
If you've tried to call me or e-mail me, the phones have been messed up
and there's been no power for days. I will try to get back to you when
I can.
This is supposed to continue for at least 5 more days -- I bet longer.
We'll see what happens.
