HI GUYS well I looked at the mosquito helicopter at the mentone pra fly-in last week. Its a very good looking helicopter.seen it fly.. that 2 stroke that they use also runs very high rpm like the ...........old mini 500...looks like a good design tho .but the engine i think is going to be a maintenance hog...some of the components look a little cheap.. for what you would have in this little bird I don't believe its worth it...brantly is still the best for the money....

I saw my first mosquito on the back of a trailer at a truck stop in FL a few years back. The new owner seemed pleased and had just finished his training I think in Ocala, FL. His I believe was an experimental cat.. If I remember correctly the only difference between his and the ultralite, was the fuel tank, and the floats.
I don't know if you have to have a current medical to fly one, but the Ultralite might appeal to someone who has lost their's.
Your right, for the money you could buy a nice Brantly.

I might want one some day, you never know. Right now like you, I enjoy flying my certificated standard catagory helicopter. Here in the hills of middle TN it is a comfort to know that a lot of work, engineering and testing went on prior to attaching that ID plate. Now that I have recently turned 60 I know at some point I may not pass a medical. Without any helicopters in the LSA catagory, an ultralite may be my only choice. I always try to keep an eye out for the future.
