Post by Steve Chenoweth »

List of movies where you can see a Brantly:

1968, Night of the Living Dead
At the end when the police are combing for zombies, a Brantly comes in for a landing.

1967, You Only Live Twice
1) When bond first goes to investigate thevolcano, a Brantly flies in overhead and lands in the volcano.
2) A short while after, the same helicopter takes off and leaves the volcano.
3) A Brantly helicopter lands on the helipad atop a building right outside from the office of the vilain.

1964, Goldfinger
At the very end, when Bond is lying down in a forest kissing the girl, the helicopter searching for him is a Brantly.

Discovery Channel Documentary
In a documentary seen on the Discovery channel or TLC, the subject was the building of the arch in St-Louis. At one point, they're putting in the last piece at the top. Many helicopters are flying around to see the event. One of them is a Brantly 305. The arch was completed in 1965.

The Brantly going into the volcano in You only live Twice was my Fathers G-ASXE flown by his instructor Pete Perkowski an ex ww2 Hurricane pilot. It was filmed at Pinewood England on a massive set and apparently they couldnt fly it back out so had to do some clever camera work, and take it apart to get it out of the volcano.
