I just went back and read your post again...

If I read you right??? "Flies horrendously...constantly pitches up...tiring...checked and adjusted trim to exhaustion"

All that means to says to me is the trim force is all that's making it fly horrendously. I don't think you are saying vibration or shaking is your problem, right?

The Brantly trim system as you know, is simply an ARTIFICIAL force created by a stretched spring under the seat. Adjusting the pitch trim in a way that is NOT ARTIFICIAL involves pilot/passenger weights, fuel on board, aircraft empty CG, and if you have a way to add weight to the tail or in a pilot seat to NATURALLY adjust takeoff CG.

If the maintenance folks did anything to change the CG (I doubt it), that could cause your fore/aft trim issue. If lateral trim is your issue, they could have loosened the lateral trim spring that is just aft of the firewall and connects the left and right push/pull tubes????

Thanks for your help I will give all this information to them on the next annual . I bought the Pylons from Mr Goldsberry and they were new. Like I said originally the sad part is that the Brantly was really smooth before all this work and now I avoid flying it because its just to much like hard work.

Even though I'm working on my Brantly and flying it currently I still have to think thru Bryan's posts-they're detailed and accurate! Thanks to him for continuing to contribute to the board! A comment on those rain seals and that thin bearing at the inboard blade root. I wouldn't have believed that the rain seal was there for much more than well a rain seal. I'm here to tell you it acts almost as a bearing! It took a huge amount of wobble, slop, etc out of one of my blades when we replaced it. That helped my dutch roll in the hover and elsewhere more than anything else. A simple shake test of that inboard end tells if the rain seal is worn out or perhaps not seated correctly.

I promise that if we ever get to the bottom of this I shall post all the details, as this is a real pain in the A@$e. Thanks everyone. Anybody know what's happening in China/ US ? Is any product support available yet or am I flying my Brantly to its time expiry?

Make sure that the inboard hinge blocks are on correctly. This is easy to check. It is stamped "Top". If upside down, it won't let the blade move correctly.

This is Part # 342-7 in the Brantly parts catalog.

We have had 2 different helicopters in for annuals and have found them to be upside down on one blade on each helicopter. They both flew rough, till we put them on correctly.

Hi guys, Just wondered if someone could take a photo of their Blade hubs where the inboard blade joins the hub (Where the rain seal is)0n their Brantly Im sure mine looks different than it did.
Also I would really appreciate it if someone could scan the pages of the service manual regarding Blade removal and reassembly, Torques etc and possibly the relevant pages in the parts manual. Although I have all these they are at the place where my maintenance is done and to much hassle to go and get at the moment.
Ive decided to go through all the suggestions one by one until I find the problem, will post results with pictures if I find anything that might stop this happening to anyone else, Thanks in anticipation Neil

No I didn't and its very kind of you to offer. Its not that I'm being lazy as I have both parts and service manual but they are in Worcester at maintenance and if you type in Worcestershire and floods into Google you will see the problem Im facing. Thanks again Regards Neil
