Apollo SL60 database (db) update

Seeking info for updating an Apollo SL60 GPS/COMM like the one pictured at:

I'm looking to update one without removing it from the panel as noted in this discussion:
http://www.matronics.com/digest/avionic ... -11-18.txt

Hoping to learn which cable(s), db updates, software, procedures might be needed?

Great radio! You will have to remove the SL-60 from the panel in order to update it unless you have the added update connector as mentioned in the matronics digest. In case you haven't already updated it or received the info to do it, you'll need:

1. Windows PC with serial port (some USB to serial port adapters might work but no guarantees)
2. Cable to connect the PC to the radio (easy to make using the diagram in the installation manual)
3. 12V battery or power supply
4. Apollo Waypoint Manager software
5. Database update file from Garmin AT
