Hi guys really need help regarding forward flight control after my annual. The Brantly went in for its annual where it also had new Pylon bearing shafts fitted. On release I picked up the aircraft and flew it with my young son to a local airport for fuel, then on a 10 minute flight home.
On the the flight home I noticed a large amount of effort was required to push the cyclic forward in flight to the point of requiring both hands on the cyclic at one point to relive my arm as it was going numb.
I took the aircraft to maintenance where they spent hours trying to balance the blade system and eventually on the ground and in the hover it was quite stable.I then went to fly it home and found it to be exactly the same as it was with excessive effort required for forward flight, getting worse the faster you flew.I then landed with full forward trim at maintenance which is where it currently is with the engineers scatching their heads.
Any ideas of the cause of this would be greatly appreciated ,or if you know of anyone that might know please get in touch via this forum.
Many thanks Neil

Re: Problems in forward Flight
Sound like to me the cyclic trim is in the full-aft spring tension.
Have you checked THAT?

Re: Problems in forward Flight
Even though you say that the trim was in the full forward position, it does sound like the spring is full aft, even if the "knob" is forward. I'd pull the seats and look at the spring on the cyclic control rods and see how/where and tension fore and aft is. I can't think of anything else right now that would cause what you're experiencing.
Re: Problems in forward Flight
HI sounds most likely what ron said. If not did some one mess with rigging of the swash plate ?? when you said you where trying to get it balanced. because the only adjustments for balancing is the pitch links.also check vertical fin for tightness.or to much weight in baggage compartment....let us no what it was...thanks be safe

Gatlo,
Did you get this problem resolved? Always interesting and helpful to know what solves problems so we can help others going forward.
