Old girl in bad shape

Post by Ron Spiker »

Take a look at this old girl. What a shame that someone has left her out in the weather for many years. If anyone knows anything about it, let us know. From bits and pieces that a couple of us are putting together, it could possibly be N2192U, which is no longer registered to a Brantly, and has one accident report from 1974 in NJ. I think this was spotted in one of the southern states.

Wowsers! What a shame. Looks like she's intact though. Love to find one like that to make up for the parts I'm missing :x

I bet there's a story behind that one! Shame it got left out in the weather for so long but there's bound to be some good parts on it.

this old girl is located at berry hill airport in stockbridge, ga. i saw her first hand about 2 years ago. the story i was told was the ship was flown in and had a mechanical problem. the owner passed away shortly afterward and it has been sitting there ever since. i do not know if it is a true story, but it sounded plausible. the ship looks alot worse in person than the pictures would lead you to believe.

Excellent Hank!!

With a little sleuthing, I found it using Google Earth. See below, at different levels of zooming in on the airport. Compare the 2nd and 3rd pictures with the first one in this thread and that is for sure it. the trailer, truck and other airplane still sitting there too! Then the 4th picture is using Google Maps Street View, from the cul-de-sac that goes back to the house nearest the helicopter.

Stopped in Berry Hill airport in Stockbridge, Ga. last week on the way back from Florida.

So sad, this ship will never fly again. 3 photo's are the limit will send more if requested.

Wow! That is very unfortunate. I'm surprised that no one has picked this one up. What do you she's worth in that condition?

She's worth almost nothing. Everything looked real bad. I was told the engine locked up on attempted startup.
