Flying

Post by J-nut »

I'm in Savannah for a couple weeks. Thinking about heading over to the Atlanta area this weekend. Anybody in Georgia who might be up for doing some flying this weekend if I buy the fuel?

Hey all,

Well I made it back from Savannah. I had a good time and yes, even enjoyed the heat. Being from Seattle, it was nice change. When I left it was 58 degrees and raining and when I came back a month later, it was 64 degrees and raining. Go figure! :lol:

Anyway, I did get the chance to take a trip up one weekend to see a couple of the Brantly guys. I managed to stop by and see Charlie south of Atlanta. i haven't seen Charlie since Brantly school and it was good good to connect again. Bryan's old ship sure looks good in person. Hopefully Charlie will get her up and flying again soon. I then made a quick stop by and saw the old decrepit Brantly southeast of Atlanta. Dave's pics really don't do it justice as it really is just an old pile. Pity as it could have had a good future 10-15+ years ago. Now it's questionable as to scrap value. After another hour and a half travel north I managed to make my way up to Dave's place. What a beautiful machine he has!! Really the pics don't do it justice and he sure does have a great spread too. I can only dream! Anyway, we had a great visit. He cooked up a great meal and provided some great brews and we had a great visit! I think I finally left around 10:30 and made it back to Savannah around 4am. Just in time to sleep a couple hours and get to class by 8am. 8)

All in all, a great weekend! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the hospitality and the motivation to get back into rebuilding the Brantly. I didn't get many good pics but I may post a few soon.

Hesus Nut;

Boy that would have been a great thing to do, but I am tied up helping Patsy do an Art show here in CHoo Choo town. It's Christmas Market time and should be a good show in $$$$ terms.

Wish it was next weekend. Hope to see you on another visit soon. How about a filet next time? Bring Bryon and is Fam. You can learn a lot from him. Short of Harold Jenkins, Bryon is the Brantly Guru! "(one who has expert knowledge of a technical area and serves as an advisor to others; an expert and teacher)", you really need to meet him!

No worries Dave, we'll make it work one of these days. It may turn out that I am still here next weekend. I hope not but we have a pretty severe problem and so far the guru's seem to be preety stumped so you never know...

I need to stop by and see Bryan. That would be fun. Perhaps it might work out!
