The last 3 weeks I got in about 3 hours. I flew to a meeting near Dayton Tn. at the Volunteer Fire Dept. about 40 miles. It was 80 degrees and a beautiful day. Everyone was very happy to see the Brantly (2101U), it was the first for everyone.

It's been very breezy the last few days. but hope to catch another flight Sunday. The fall colors are really coming out now.

Everyone fly more and fly safe.

Yes, we did have great weather this weekend here in western Pennsylvania. I was out all afternoon both Saturday and Sunday. Between the Enstrom and Brantly I had almost 8 hours in the air, and flew with 10 different people. Good times.

I did get to see a little excitement too. Hovering, just about to take off and this Maule came in to land and up-ended right on its nose. I landed near it and went over to assist. The pilot wasn't injured at all, and we lifted its nose back up to get it on its wheels, then pushed it off the runway. The first picture is us just about to lift it back up, and the second is obviously the damage to the prop.

Last week another pilot and I flew an Enstrom from Pittsburgh over to Philadelphia and back. Many areas were fogged in all morning. On the way eastbound we were seeing ground speeds up around 110 kts, which was really nice. On the way back westbound, however, that dropped down to about 90 kts. Overall a nice day of flying.

Here are some pictures from the trip. Several of them have reflections in the window, but we thought the dense fog in some of the valleys we flew past was pretty.

I'm playing around with GPS tracking data. The attached link should show our flight route for the above mentioned flight. You can use the controls on the left of the map to move around and zoom in on the track. What I found most interesting was zooming in all the way at the airport fuel stops, and seeing exactly where we hovered around at the airports. You can also change what type of map is displayed with the drop-down list in the top right corner.

Flight Track

I'm trying to get the pictures from the above album link also integrated with the map, so they show up exactly where they were taken along the trip.

Tom, Flew Saturday & Sunday ,Flew yesterday (Tuesday) & plan on flying tomorrow before the rain sets in for the weekend. The bird is running great , The engine is finally getting broke in ,not using or leaking a drop of oil. Getting ready for the fly-in, the mailing list this year is over 600 invitations plus advertising on 5 helicopter forums, if the weather holds out we should have a good turn out. Good to hear you got back up , I plan on being back out in your area to fly with Ron in a couple of weeks , see you guys then. It would be nice to hear what everone else is doing, the site has been quiet lately. Bill
