Looking for Service

Post by TedGrondin »

I am interested in the Brantly but I need to know there is some service available within reasonable distance. Anyone know of Brantly service in Western Canada or the Western and Northwest U.S. In particular, Manitoba to B.C. or North Dakota to Washington?

Ted,

I'm in Seattle, WA, a Brantly B2-b owner, mechanic and hopefully soon to be CFI. I'd be happy to give you a hand if needed.

If you're in Canada and the aircraft is going to be C-registered then it will need to be signed off by a LAME. You might check around to see what the requirements are. At one time I believe you had to be certified on each airframe. If they will allow it though I'd be willing to come up and do any work under the supervision of a Canadian mechanic so he can sign it off for you.

I will do some checking about the Cdn requirements. Since the Brantly community is quite small, do you know anything about the posting on ebay right now?

It looks like a nice ship. I've never seen it in person only in pictures and don't know the fellow who owns it. The times look good. Just from an armchair perspective sounds like a pretty good deal. If you decide to bid on it I'd make the sale contingent on an acceptable pre-buy.
