Re: Hawker Beechcraft

That last article really makes things scary for Hawker Beechcraft. The same process was made at Brantly. Cheng and his crew came and took a tour and made big promises. We all know what took place from there. I envision that the next project will be a "Drone" Beechcraft. They would be in wa...

"We will aggressively work to keep jobs in the United States...."

This look very familiar. I hope those 7500 employees don't get let go if this deal go through, but if history is repeated then that will be sad.

Re: Fatal Brantly Crash 5/27/11

It's always sad to get this kind of news. I am not familiar with that N# or the city where it was. Any ideas as to who the previous owner was because. Just curious because I usually recall where the different ships are located and this was not in my memory bank.

Re: Brantly UAV

Just from what I have learned from these folks, I can imagine the control system for the remote controls as being a couple of remote controlled kids cars with a serious of belts attached to the tires of the cars and then connected the collective and cyclic sticks. Hovering for 10 mins can be done on...

Re: Brantly Issues New Service Bulletin

This is PURE SPECULATION, but I would THINK Brantly would not write an SB without pressure from the FAA. I KNOW this to be the case on the inspection SB that came out a few years ago, on the short T/R driveshaft, and all the string alignment stuff on the long driveshaft. First, shaft failure was id...

Brantly Closed

I hate be the bearer of bad news, but the owners have decided to close our local office effective Sept. 10, 2010. There were only 3 of us left at the office when they came and gave us the news. It is unfortunate. They claim they are planning on building a new producition facility in the Dallas area ...

Re: Formsprag clutch

Thanks for your input Jason. Now the question still is, where can we go for the formsprag inspections? Who does them? Can they be inspected by our local A&P, looking for some amount of wear or play or whatever. If so, is there any documentation he could use to do this inspection? If the factory...

Re: Formsprag clutch

I did some research to possibly assist. I think the answer to some of the questions regarding the 300 / 600 hour inspection can be found in Service Letter #26. The CL40237 replaced the roller-ramp type clutch part # B2-10-11 (which have a 100 hour tear down and inspection). As for the CL40237 the se...

Re: Brantly Maintenance Course is set

Anders made it home safely and they were very happy with the ship. Chris said they made it home at 6:30 pm Saturday. That's some flying there.

Let us know at your earliest convenience if you will be attending. At the present time this course is designed f...

We have just completed a Level I training curriculum for future maintenance training classes here at the factory. I'm sure there would be a small fee for providing this training but it would be well worth it. I think it would be great if we could get a group here for some training.
