Last I heard, Gary Goldsberry had some autorotation clutches that are serviceable.

ATS (Applied Technical Services) is a company who is highly specialized to do all NDT including Eddy Current. Aviation is one of their main customers. Any A&P or A&P/I.A. will recognize and accept their work. They have many offices in several states. http://www.atslab.com http://www.atslab.c...

Re: M/R Blade AD

If that quote is from a Certified Level II or Level III NDT Tech., and it's for all 3 outer blades, I'd say that's reasonable. Lots of training and experience to get certified...Expensive equipment...at least a full day of labor and a full day of report writing. I'd be surprised if anyone can get it...

Re: M/R Blade AD

I feel like the FAA agonized over this for a long time, trying to find any way to not publish an A.D.. They felt they HAD to and there was no way out, so they eliminated all the parts of the inspection they possibly could eliminate.

This is a bummer.

Formsprag

I stumbled on these pictures on Ebay. I don't know if these phone numbers are of any value, but there's a possibility they may get you fellas in touch with someone who will rebuild the 300hr clutches? http://www.srsindustrial.net/pictures/Industrial%20Supply%20&%20MRO/Other/J0000164/P1030264.JPG

Re: Forward Flight problems

I just went back and read your post again... If I read you right??? "Flies horrendously...constantly pitches up...tiring...checked and adjusted trim to exhaustion" All that means to says to me is the trim force is all that's making it fly horrendously. I don't think you are saying vibratio...

Re: Forward Flight problems

Back to your original post and the problems after maintenance. ** Did the mechanics have the Maintenance Manual IN THEIR HANDS as they replaced your Outer Pylon Bearing Shafts? If they were strictly told to ONLY do necessary work related to the OPBS's, they would have: 1) Removed AN-3 Damper bolt fr...

Re: Autorotations and Quick stops

The Army's term during training, for "collective check" is "INITIAL PITCH."

There's INITIAL PITCH, and then CUSHIONING PITCH.

Sound like to me the cyclic trim is in the full-aft spring tension.

Have you checked THAT?

Cool! I did the post-lights at $32 a pop just because they taught us in flight school that only RED preserves your night vision.

I think I did 8 of them for $250 +/-.
