Re: Flying

No worries Dave, we'll make it work one of these days. It may turn out that I am still here next weekend. I hope not but we have a pretty severe problem and so far the guru's seem to be preety stumped so you never know...

I need to stop by and see Bryan. That would be fun. Perhaps it might work out!

Re: Flying

Well Guys I am back in Savannah tending to our sick Jet. Anybody have their Brantly flying and might be up for doing a little flying this weekend if I buy the fuel?

Re: blades

Scrap, Temp is only part of the picture. Enstrom's have been running the 360 Lycomings for years at very high manifold pressure and temps and many of those reach TBO. Ours are pretty much the same in terms of metallurgy and design except they're lower compression and have an oil cooled exhaust valve...

Re: How many built6? How many operating?

Harold Jenkins would be the guy to ask. He's worked on a lot of the Brantly's at one time or another. A lot of aircraft that are wrecked or scrapped will remain on the databases. People just don't bother changing their status. Many of those you may find are just a logbook and a dataplate. That's one...

Ron,

Thanks for posting this. What a tragedy, my heart is just sick about it. I'll definitely be sending cards and praying for those involved, their family and friends...

Re: Flying

Hey all, Well I made it back from Savannah. I had a good time and yes, even enjoyed the heat. Being from Seattle, it was nice change. When I left it was 58 degrees and raining and when I came back a month later, it was 64 degrees and raining. Go figure! Anyway, I did get the chance to take a t...

Re: Brantly Closed

Hey gang, Just thought I'd pass along some news. So I called and chatted with Tim Archer today. I was just too curious what was going on at Superior. Tim seems like a good guy. I think he may be relaying a letter through Ron soon so I'll try not to steal his thunder. Anyway, long story short I feel ...

Re: Brantly Closed

Well nuts!!! I suppose it's what we all feared and hoped would never come. Just one more chapter in the sad sorry saga of Brantly. Maybe they'll make a go of it but I imagine it will be more like Bill Lear's disastrous buy-out of Brantly way back when. Well, Harold's been through this a few times be...

I'm in Savannah for a couple weeks. Thinking about heading over to the Atlanta area this weekend. Anybody in Georgia who might be up for doing some flying this weekend if I buy the fuel?

Re: Brantly versus Enstrom

Steve, What was your experience with with routine maintenance on the Enstrom? I've worked on a few and can say they are not my favorite by a long shot. As I recall there was a lot more maintenance required than the other makes. One of the local FBO's down south used to be an Enstrom dealer and a lot...

Wowsers! What a shame. Looks like she's intact though. Love to find one like that to make up for the parts I'm missing :x

Re: PowerFlow exhaust, oil filter kit and electronic gauges

Brilliant Dave! I thought I remembered there was at least one out there with the mod. Might want to stop drill that crack if not already done. Very similar to what I want to do. Any idea what the P/N of the adapter is?
