Re: New brantly operation

Hey Flylow,
Did they have partnership problems or lack of clients wanting to fly Brantly's??
I have seen their advertisements all over, seems they would have had students.
Thanks

Re: New brantly operation

Hey,
Their website has been down for awhile. Have they already gone belly up? They are just getting started...

Thanks..

Hey Brad,
Quick question. Is the VO/VIO 360's you say are obsolete the same engines offered in the New B2B's???

Thanks,
Brad, aka mechanic

Tom, I think the turbo and 305 tail rotor blades would be a kick butt option! Esp in a training package. You would have extra power for all the manuvers and extra TRA for those windy days. A few years ago I looked at a Brantly outside of St. Louis. The owner had gotten a pair of tailrotor blades off...

bubble

Tom, Thanks again for more good info. I can see where a B2B if it did have 30-50 more pounds of useful load that it could possibly make a very stable IFR or Cross Country time builder over the R22! And also at a very reasonable price. The school in Houston that I train at uses Robinson now. In the p...

Tom, Thanks for the info. I would be interested in more info on the 305 to B2 tailrotor blade swap! Does the factory condone this? Is the gearbox the same on both ships? Seems like Brantly would offer the blades as an option. I have been looking at many photo's that I can find online of the B2B. I h...

Vert Mag Editor Requests Insurance Input

On the R22 owners board there was a request for insurance input for a article in Vertical Magazine. Here's the request. As a contributing editor for Vertical Magazine, I have decided to write a feature for publication later this year on the subject of piston helicopter insurance. As such, Robinson h...

Vertical Reference Poll

Hi, In the hopes of generating interest in the Brantly product, I posted a poll about the upper bubble on the Brantly. All the people I have spoken with say it looks too old and ugly. I think just an upper bubble change with the new IP and cyclic grips installed would help, either one would be fine,...

B2B Fuel Burn?

I was wondering what you guys/gals are getting for a fuel burn with the B2B when close to MTW @ PA of 3000' etc? Is the useful load at 600 lbs a good est? I have only Robbie time. I am trying to learn all I can about the B2B.

Thanks

more info on the Centurion

The Centurion is turbocharged, so thats a plus. I don't think the Centurion 1.7L has enough ummphhh for the Brantly though, but maybe it would work with the Robbie? From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "The Centurion 1.7 was the first product introduced by Thielert, a 1689 cm³ (103 in³) engin...

"CENTURION 1.7 L" Engines

Hi, I was reading my AOPA email and it seems that American Flyers has opt'd to in stall the "CENTURION 1.7L" diesel engines on their C172's. Thielert Group claims to have 350 conversions flying now. It's getting interesting, I am a small gas/diesel mech myself, so I may have to get my &quo...
