Re: ultralight helicopter

I might want one some day, you never know. Right now like you, I enjoy flying my certificated standard catagory helicopter. Here in the hills of middle TN it is a comfort to know that a lot of work, engineering and testing went on prior to attaching that ID plate. Now that I have recently turned 60 ...

Re: ultralight helicopter

I saw my first mosquito on the back of a trailer at a truck stop in FL a few years back. The new owner seemed pleased and had just finished his training I think in Ocala, FL. His I believe was an experimental cat.. If I remember correctly the only difference between his and the ultralite, was the fu...

Re: fly-in

Thanks for the reply. I don't think I can make that, thought it might be closer to Middle TN. That's a strange coincidence. Friday I was at the Smyrna, TN airport, KMQY, and a pair of Navy trainers, fixed wing Turbo-Props, on a cross-country training flight from Pensacola, FL to PA, and I think they...

Re: Brantly Milestone

Great web site for your business, I really like the paint on the Enstrom. If the powers that be in China could put a turbo engine like the Enstrom's in the B2B that 225 H.P. might just solve any power issues.
Good luck on you 1000 hrs.

AOPA ePilot

In the May 4th, 2012 issue of AOPA's ePilot, there is a story about a fatal B2B crash. You can find the story in the Over and Under heading.

Re: FAIRCHILD- HILLER 1100

Dave,

I read a couple of weeks ago that the Certificates, and rights to the FH-1100 were sold to a company in China. Another Great Helicopter gone east. If I can fine the Article, I'll post it here.

Re: Pittsburgh to Nashville

Ron,
What a great trip! The weather here in middle Tennessee has really been bad, looks like you did a good job of weaving your way to BNA.
Will this Brantly be based in Nashville?

Thanks for the photo's.

Tom,

Give Lori Spencer with Falcon Insurance a call. 1-800-880-0801. She gave me a quote a couple of months ago, when I was talking to the factory about buying one.

Tom, I almost hate to respond to your question. This site of course, is full of people who love Brantly's, myself included. Nothing would please me more than to see Brantly make a strong come-back but that's something that may happen in the future, if at all. If I could afford to maintain two helicop...

Brad; They didn't charge me for the demo flight, but I don't know what their policy is ? I had been in discussions with them for a couple of months before I drove out there, so they knew I was interested in buying one. The one I flew in N-9030Q was green with just under 90 hours. Off of the top of m...

TBO

Rotorman I couldn't agree more. But when I spend money I have to make sure my passion for flying and desire to have a Brantly don't cloud my judgement. Since you brought up TBO, have you had to rebuild youe engine yet? The time sheet calls for 1500hr., but Mr. Patrick was telling me the real world f...

Just Returned from the Factory

I returned from Vernon,Texas on Wednesday 07/12/2006. and the one thing you can say about that part of Texas this time of year, is HOT, 104 degrees HOT. My tour of the Brantly plant was much better than the weather. Everyone was very informative and really tried to answer all my questions. Doyel Pat...

Tour of the Brantly Plant

Hello everyone; I have really enjoyed all the info on the board. It has helped me to decided to look into buying a new Brantly. All my training has been done in a 300 CB, but I really like the way the B2B looks,it kind of grows on you.I have a friend who owned one in the 60's. He said he paid $25,00...
